Need Insurance?
Families in need of health or dental insurance coverage are encouraged to find a plan! Financial help may be available including tax credits, as well as free health and dental insurance through Medicaid, including RIte Care/RIte Smiles.

When choosing a dental coverage, be sure to consider the cost of premiums, deductibles, and co-pays, as well as covered benefits and participating dental providers.

Dental Insurance for children: Commercial pediatric dental insurance is offered in two ways on HealthSource RI in 2017:

  • Dental benefits are packaged together with all medical plans, or
  • Separate dental plans are available if you would like to purchase only dental coverage.

Dental Insurance for adults: Commercial adult dental insurance is mainly offered as a separate dental plan on HealthSource RI in 2017 (adult dental benefits are only included in a Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI VantageBlue Direct 1200/2400 plan). No financial assistance is available for any separate adult dental plan.

Already have Insurance? - Commercial coverage (this applies to families who are not covered through Medicaid.)
Families who were covered (health or dental insurance) through HealthSource RI in 2016 need to renew now!

  • Families are encouraged to follow the directions outlined in their mailed renewal packet.
  • Review your assigned plan carefully to understand your network, the costs (premium, co-pays and deductibles) and the benefits to decide whether you want to stay in this plan or choose a different plan.
  • Families and individuals are also encouraged to select and pay for their insurance by January 23 to ensure they have coverage beginning on February 1.

Medicaid/RIte Care/RIte Smiles
If you are eligible for Medicaid, you can enroll in no cost coverage at any time – you do not need to enroll before the end of the Open Enrollment period.
